Who is Jesus Christ?
…Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners… (1 Tim 1:15) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. (1 Tim 2:5) ...righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God… (Rom 3:22-23) God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood… (Rom 3:25)
Why did Jesus have to be sacrificed for our sins?
[The Bible says] ...just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men… from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come. (Rom 5:12-14) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 6:23) …because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. (Cor 5:14-15)
What did Adam do to cause sin to enter the world?
…the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." (Gen 2:16-17) ...the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. (Gen 3:6)
Before Adam sinned did humanity have eternal life?
[The Bible says] He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. (Rev 2:7) ...the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground-trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. (Gen 2:9) When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. (Gen 3:6) And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." (Gen 3:22)
Is it fair that because of Adam's sin people go to hell?
What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion." It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy…God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden. One of you will say to me: "Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?" But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?' "Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?
(Rom 9:14-21)
How were people saved before Jesus?
What does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." (Rom 4:3) Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for (Heb 11:1-2) By faith Abel... By faith Enoch... By faith Noah... By faith Abraham... By faith Sarah... By faith Isaac... By faith Jacob... By faith Joseph... By faith Moses... All these people were still living by faith when they died. (Heb 11:4-24) These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. (Heb 11:39) When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, saying, "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants." (Heb 6:13-14) "From this man's descendants God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus, as he promised. (Acts 13:23) If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Gal 3:29)
Why were animals sacrificed in the old Testament?
When everything had been arranged like this, the priests entered regularly into the outer room to carry on their ministry. But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance. (Heb 9:6-8) The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp. (Heb 13:11-12) It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices… (Heb 11:23) And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. (Heb 13:12) When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation. He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption. (Heb 9:11-12)
Was Jesus Christ God in the flesh?
[The Bible says] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1) And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14) For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form (Col 2:9)
